Webinar - Procuring for Central Government: Social Value Model and PPN06/20

Join our upcoming webinar on Thursday, 22 April, 10.30 – 11.45 (BST) to hear all about PPN06/20 and the government’s Social Value Model. Learn about what it is and what it means for businesses and suppliers.

What is PPN06/20 and the Social Value Model?

The Cabinet Office released the Procurement Policy Note PPN06/20 last September that set out requirements for central government departments to evaluate social value in all contracts, with a weighting of at least 10% from January this year.

Like the Social Value Act did with local government, this policy note is likely to transform the relationship between central government and their suppliers. The Social Value Model has also been developed to deliver against five core themes (COVID-19 recovery, tackling economic inequality, fighting climate change, equal opportunity and wellbeing) with a series of policy outcomes and metrics being described.

Join Guy Battle and Cindy Nadesan as they give an overview of the policy note and the Social Value Model and build on the panel discussion held at the 2021 National Social Value Conference.

They will also discuss the progress to date on the alignment of the national TOMs to the themes set out in the PPN  (a.k.a. CG TOMs mapping tool), designed by the National Social Value Taskforce to map to the Social Value Model. The mapping tool is in its final stages of review, and once complete will add to the richness of resources now being developed by practitioners across the UK to strengthen the implementation of social value.
