The deadline for this year’s GRESB certification has just passed, but now is the perfect time to get ahead for next year. There’s a proven way to directly boost your score while gaining deeper insight into your impact: the Real Estate Social Value Index (RESVI).
Underpinned by the widely Social Value TOM System™ and used by real estate organisations like Invesco, JP Morgan Asset Management, and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, RESVI is a detailed, standardised tool for measuring, reporting, and improving the Social Value generated by ‘in-use’ real estate and infrastructure assets.
RESVI works by conducting a thorough diagnostic, grading, and Social Value assessment, using data from asset managers, property managers, suppliers, and occupiers to give you a clear, actionable picture of your impact.

GRESB is the global benchmark for real estate sustainability, covering USD 8.6 trillion in assets and more than 154,000 geo-coded properties worldwide.
RESVI is the first tool within the operational building certification of the GRESB Real Estate Assessment dedicated to the ‘S’ in ESG. It automatically gives 8.5 points against GRESB’s BC1.2 Building Certification and aligns to 16 of GRESB’s indicators, covering 2/3 of its Social indicators within Management and Performance for robust reporting against GRESB’s social initiatives.
Together, GRESB and RESVI help organisations worldwide to measure performance across the entire ESG spectrum, in turn allowing investors to manage and improve the sustainability and financial performance of their assets.
Measuring Social Value is fundamental to creating inclusive and sustainable town centres, and with RESVI being fully accredited by GRESB, this will assist in our mission of making social impact and financial returns intrinsically linked.
Tim Cornford, Head of Asset Management at Ellandi
RESVI is the first real estate certification to cover the ‘S’ in ESG and it’s something we’re really proud to be part of as, like many other businesses, we are on the journey to ensure we are creating value and offering something meaningful, and tangible, to the local communities in which we operate. The inclusion of Social Value into the GRESB benchmark is really positive news for the industry as it expands the current benchmark from covering the key ESG metrics to also now including Social Value, which will ensure a more holistic approach to measuring sustainability.
Alyson Hodkinson, Head of Sustainability at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield
RESVI can help you achieve stronger GRESB results while creating lasting social impact across your portfolio.
