Key Note Panel
Key Note Panel will include Jonathon Porritt OBE, Founder Director of Forum for the Future, and Adrian Thacker, Senior Head of National Partnerships at the Prince’s Trust alongside the CEO of Trafford Council, Theresa Grant. The panel will be moderated by Rt. Hon. Hazel Blears, a leading member of the National Advisory Board of Impact Investing.
Workshops and Rotating Sessions on Social Value
The Key Note will be followed by 3 rotating sessions that allow attendees to absorb each of the main work-streams that the Social Value Taskforce has been developing, including the presentation of a National TOMs Framework for measuring and reporting social value, a discussion on 3 procurement case studies and a bid management session for businesses that will help them identify how to develop a winning social value proposal. In addition, we will be running a ‘Health Sector Deep Dive’ workshop for individuals and organisations from that sector.
Deep Dive Social Value Sessions
After lunch, there will be four deep dive syndicate sessions that will cover 4 burning topics:
- Embedding Social Value into Your Organisation, which will help identify the key steps that need to be taken to embed social value into your organisation. The session will cover key issues such as procurement, legal pitfalls, tender assessment, and contract management for both public AND private sector organisations.
- Planning and Development. This session will explore how social value may be lawfully and effectively integrated into the planning system. It is aimed at planning officers, developers and those interested in getting social value recognised as a key part of planning.
- Social Value and the Devolution Opportunity. This session will include representatives from West Midlands devolved area and Manchester, and will look specifically at the opportunity that devolution offers and how organisations can develop stronger supplier partnerships, as well as exploring the potential of cross border collaboration to meet the greatest needs.
- Integrating Social Value into Frameworks. Frameworks offer a unique opportunity to develop a longer-term private/public sector partnerships. This session will look at how to use frameworks to deliver social value.
