We're pleased to announce that we have joined a select number of companies from around the world in achieving B Corp accreditation, recognised for its commitment to pursuing purpose as well as profit.
Social Value Portal scored 114 out of a possible 200, with scores in excess of average across all assessed sections. The B Impact Assessment is a rigorous application process requiring clear evidence of accountability, transparency and commitment to generating improvement to communities, the environment and society. The accreditation is expected to aid us as we continue to deliver social value in the UK and abroad.
Guy Battle, CEO, Social Value Portal, said:
Social Value is the term used to describe the positive value an organisation creates for individuals and society as a whole, so our goals are aligned with those of B Corp accreditation. The minimum score an organisation must achieve is 80, so we are absolutely delighted with our accredited score of 114.
Companies who earn B Corp certification are required to recertify and improve their score every three years. They are held legally accountable in regard to the impact of their decisions on employees, suppliers, customers, community and the environment. B Corps are also committed to publicly revealing all information regarding their performance measured against B Lab’s standards.
In achieving B Corp status, Social Value Portal will continue to deliver its purpose whilst helping to influence the global economic system, shifting behaviour and culture collectively to address the most critical issues the world faces today.
Social Value Portal has also launched a free Social Value Accelerator Programme for small and micro-sized B-corps and Social Value enterprises. Guy Battle continued:
If we want to promote better business and community wellbeing through the integration of Social Value into day-to-day business, we must lead by example, which is why we have launched the Social Value Accelerator Programme for social enterprises, small and micro organisations. We want to make doing good go further and are supporting four organisations to build their Social Value maturity through our software and consultative services, free of charge.
The winners of the Accelerator Programme will work with Social Value Portal to develop their Social Value proposition. This will involve free basic membership and advisory services, including the use of the widely recognised Social Value TOM System™. They will also benefit from a managed service to support customers and suppliers through measurement, tender responses and contract management, as well as access to data validation and evidencing from our platform.
Since 2017 Social Value Portal has been at the forefront of the Social Value movement. As creators of the endorsed Social Value TOM SystemTM, hosts of the annual Social Value Conference and founding members of the independent National Social Value Taskforce – they set industry standards and lead the business agenda.
Their unique mix of consultancy, cloud platform and programmes offer organisations the complete solution to accurately measure, manage and report Social Value – and create lasting impact.
In 2022, SVP achieved B Corp status, scoring above average in all assessed. The company’s aim is to promote better business and community wellbeing through the integration of Social Value into day-to-day business activity across all sectors.
