Outline:

SVP has developed a leading role around social value measurement and management, and we have pioneered an emerging approach to integrating social value into the planning process and asset management.

Social value is now a key issue in the preparation and approval of new developments and a Social Value Statement is becoming a base requirement for all planning approvals. Social Value Portal has been pioneering this new approach to understanding the broader contribution that a development makes to society.

In parallel, real asset investors, such as Legal and General Investment Management, want to measure the value being generated by the management and occupation of their buildings. This is primarily driven by investors who are asking fund managers what wider impact their investments are having on society.

You will help lead the development of our solutions in the real estate sector as well as other industries, and will be joining an ambitious team of professionals. You should be willing to innovate and support the organisation’s work to set new industry standards. Some of your responsibilities and activities in this role will be:

  • Leading our work around planning
  • Producing Social Value Statements for planning
  • Community consultation including development of Community Charters and analysis of community surveys
  • Report writing and presenting research findings to clients
  • Production of local needs analysis including geospatial mapping of Indices of Multiple Deprivation and quantitative data analysis
  • Development of a place-based social value strategy including community outreach programmes, links with schools and partnering with local voluntary organisation for the delivery of local services.
  • Social Value benchmarking
  • Presentations and training sessions
  • Project management
  • Proposal writing
  • Developing fees and budgets

 Your Experience

You will have a rigorous intellectual and analytical approach to your work with the ability to build strong client relationships, regardless of levels of seniority. The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both orally and in writing. An enquiring and creative mind and a high level of numeracy skills. The ability to generate new business and long-term client relationships through your consultancy skills. A solutions-based approach to your work. A strong interest in social responsibility and the ability to integrate rapidly into a dynamic and collaborative team at SVP.

Your working experience to date will have involved working with clients to identify and analyse organisational or project-based challenges and opportunities and recommend solutions. You will have produced a range of materials to support your work, perhaps including business cases, feasibility studies, presentations for workshops and seminars, evaluations and impact assessments, and drawing conclusions and recommendations from this work. You will already have had a high level of direct engagement with your clients.

We are continuously looking to develop innovative ways of expanding and improving what the Social Value Portal can do and you will make a significant contribution to this.

Must haves:
